August 2011
The July meeting was attended by 29 Full & Associate Members. There were 4 apologies.
Even less members at the August meeting but I put this down to the hot weather and the air con unit not working effectively. Another factor is that some of our members return to the UK to cool off during the summer to escape the relentless heat here in Spain.
Our Chairman Eddie Cowan opened the meeting at 1805. The Chairman commenced our meeting with the customary minutes silence for old comrades and members that have passed on.
Eddie then spoke of the letter of thanks from Central Office for the monies raised at the auction held at the Todo Loco Bar.
We were also reminded of the forthcoming RAFA Battle of Britain Service at La Siesta Church, this being held on the 15th September. There is also a Dinner & Dance for RAFA on the 23rd September. Full details at the end of this newsletter.

Jokes
AN OLD BLOKE WAS SITTING AT THE BAR SOBBING WITH THE ODD TEAR DROPPING IN HIS BEER.
“I GOT MARRIED TO A LOVELY WIDOW LAST WEEK,” HE EXPLAINED TO THE BARMAN. “SHE’S A GREAT COOK, KEEPS MY CLOTHES IN GREAT NICK AND IS INSATIABLE IN BED, HE SAID.
“THEN WHY ARE YOU CRYING?” SAID THE BARMAN.
“BECAUSE I CAN’T REMEMBER WHERE I LIVE,” SOBBED THE OLD CODGER
