May 2011

The May meeting was attended by 39 Full & Associate Members with four visitors, Chris Neeson, Helen Stallard, Chris Stallard, Sandra Fletcher.

There were 21 apologies for not attending the meeting

Chairman's Report

Our Chairman Eddie Cowan opened the meeting at 1807 and welcomed our visitors to the meeting. Eddie as is customary, asked for a minutes silence for old comrades and those that have gone before us with a minute's silence.

Eddie informed members that he attended the RBL 90th Anniversary meeting in Alicante, along with our Standard Bearer "Mac" Makenzie. By all accounts this was a well organized event and one would hope that those from Spain who attended and who organise similar events take some notes!!

The Chairman would like more members to attend our social functions, of course it is acknowledged that not everyone can attend for personal or financial reasons. We try to keep cost's to a minimum where possible to encourage greater attendance.

Joe "The Cat Man's" birthday is next week and we wish him well in his absence. Joe has recently opened a charity shop in Quesada. This is in the square next to "The Card Shop" so if you have any unwanted electrical items that work or unwanted clothes Joe will be glad to take them off you.

JOKES

A barman called to Paddy "What time is it?"
Paddy replied, "Don't know, but it's not three o'clock."
"What make's you so sure?"
"Because I told my wife I'd be home by three and I'm still here."

The advertisement for a kitchen gadget said it was so marvellous it would cut the housework in half.
So she bought two.
