September 2011
The September meeting was attended by 24 Full & Associate Members and two visitors Daniel Wassel and Chris Neeson. There were 6 apologies.
Our Chairman opened the meeting at 1815 and called for a minutes silence for old comrades and those that have been killed in recent conflicts, Marine James Wright, 42 Commando and Lt Daniel Clack, 1st Rifles.
The Chairman then reminded us of the RAFA Battle of Britain Service at La Siesta Church, September 15th ands the subsequent Dinner & Dance on the 23rd September.
In October a Spanish re-enactment group, Codex Belix, are meeting in Orihuela 16th October. There will be representation from several Spanish units, and a re-enactment of “Pegasus Bridge” (Arnhem). Last year many of the people that attended commented that it was a really enjoyable day and that how we were appreciated by the Spanish people who went.
